When are guests expected to arrive and depart?

Guests are expected to arrive on 12th December 2024 and depart after breakfast on 15th December 2024. Check-in time at the hotel is 15:00 hours.

How do guests reach Goa?

Goa has two Airports: Dabolim (GOI) in South Goa and Mopa Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa. Both airports are approximately a one hour drive from Taj Holiday Resort and Spa.

What are some possible international flights from the United States to India/Goa?

There are direct flights into Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), and Bangalore (BLR) from the east coast (JFK and EWR) and the west coast (SFO). For specific flight suggestions, please see the FAQ document.

What about accommodation at Taj Holiday Resort and Spa?

Accommodation and meals starting from dinner on the 12th through breakfast on the 15th will be covered by the bride’s family. Please make sure to make your own arrangements if you are arriving before or staying after.

What about travel to/from the airport and additional reservations?

Guests will find counters for prepaid taxi service outside the airport terminal exit. International credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, Amex) are accepted. There is no Uber in Goa, but there is a similar local app called Goa Miles.

For departure transfer to the airport, the hotel travel desk can be used. No pre-booking is required. However, informing the travel desk a day before departure is recommended. The Bhobe family has designated Nivalink as the agency for coordinating guest arrival / departure and organising travel within India (pre- or post-wedding).

Guests may contact Niraj Vashi (Director, Nivalink) at [email protected] or via Whatsapp (+91-9920241404) for any assistance regarding the trip.

Do US nationals require a visa for travel to India?

US and UK nationals are required to procure an e-visa before boarding their flights.

You can apply for an e-visa 120 days before your arrival into India (e.g., for 11th December arrival, you can apply for the e-visa after 14th August 2024). Details are available here.

We recommend applying for the e-Tourist Visa (30 days stay). This typically gets processed within 3 or 4 working days.

Can you tell me about the Taj Holiday Resort and Spa?

Taj Holiday Resort and Spa is a five-star resort set on the Candolim/Sinquerim beach in North Goa with 142 Suites and Villas spread over 28 acres of landscaped area. The entire resort is booked for the wedding. Room allocation for guests will be finalised closer to the date of arrival and communicated in advance.

What is there to do in North Goa?

Goa was a Portuguese colony and therefore steeped in the history of Portuguese colonial occupation and heritage, as well as distinctive cuisine. For a detailed list of attractions, please see the FAQ document.

What's the best way to get around Goa?

While there may not be much time to move around on 13th December and 14th December, guests arriving early or staying late may be looking to explore a bit.

The hotel travel desk can easily organise a cab. Goa does not have Uber, but there are app-based cab services such as Goa Miles. Half- or full-day excursion cabs can be organised if planned in advance.

Rental cars and bikes are available for exploring Goa on your own. As India has right-hand drive (as opposed to the US, which has left-hand drive), driving may not be an easy option for Americans.

What's the weather like?

Min/max temperature range would be 70/90 degrees (Fahrenheit). It can be breezy next to the beach. It will be sunny or partly cloudy with a low chance of rain (about 40-50% humidity).

What about credit cards?

Credit cards – Visa and Mastercard are generally accepted everywhere in Goa/India (hotels, restaurants, most shops). Acceptance of American Express (Amex) is limited to big hotels, reputable restaurants, and boutique shops. Other cards such as Discover are not commonly accepted.

Can I exchange currency?

The airport terminal exit and hotel front desk will have currency exchange options. These always offer less favorable exchange rates compared to the money exchange shops/ATMs. As credit cards are generally accepted everywhere, use of cash is limited to tipping and making small purchases.
